Reviving a century-old house and inheriting the chivalrous style
After evaluation, designer Liang Suiming decided to demolish the old house and rebuild it into a four-and-a-half-story building. First, based on time, cost and site conditions, the designer reduced the cast-in-place piles and the diameter of each pile to create a new foundation. In terms of lighting, the cantilevered beam and step-back design make it possible to install large-area windows. Long narrow windows are opened on the north side to assist with lighting, allowing each floor to receive a large amount of light.
In addition, in order to retain the cultural artistic conception of the old house, the designer used volcanic rocks with historical traces on the exterior facade materials, coupled with a one-to-one restored pitched roof and a mortise and tenon system that contains ancient wisdom - this The old house that has stood for 120 years has been given a new lease of life, fulfilling the wish of Mr. He and his family of six to return home.
