38.5 billion! The Ministry of Finance issues new energy vehicle subsidy funds for 2022, BYD grabs 4 billion

The "Notice" shows that 25 regions including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Liaoning, and Jilin are included in the 2022 energy-saving and emission reduction subsidy budget issued in advance. The notice shows that 38,479.26 million yuan (approximately 38.5 billion yuan) of funds will be arranged this time, including:

1) A total of 18,310.31 million yuan of pre-allocated subsidy funds for the promotion and application of new energy vehicles in 2019-2020 ;

　2) Subsidy funds for the promotion and application of new energy vehicles have been settled for a total of 9,983.94 million yuan from 2016 to 2018;

　3) Subsidies for the promotion and application of new energy vehicles The total amount of fund liquidation in 2019 was 10,185.01 million yuan.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Announcement on the Preliminary Review of the Liquidation and Review of Subsidy Funds for the Promotion and Application of New Energy Vehicles from 2016 to 2020."

According to the announcement, from 2016 to 2020, the total subsidy funds after rounding up by vehicle companies were 32.946 billion yuan.

Judging from the situation of car companies, BYD, BAIC, Dongfeng Motor, Tesla, Chery, Geely Automobile, Great Wall Motors, SAIC, GAC, etc. will receive more than 1 billion in this liquidation yuan of subsidy funds. Among them, BYD can receive 3.98 billion yuan in subsidies, accounting for more than 12% of the total amount.

However, in 2020, Tesla’s sales exploded, and it also surpassed BYD in the amount of new energy subsidies received from the national “scholarship”.

Tesla’s approved number of vehicles in 2020 is 101,000, and it will receive a promotion subsidy of 2.123 billion yuan. Although BYD has been approved for 117,000 vehicles and has the largest number of models, the subsidy fund is 2.047 billion yuan.
