On December 15, 2020, in order to further improve the city's ambient air quality and promote the adjustment and optimization of the energy structure, the Foshan Municipal Environmental Protection Commission Office issued the "Notice on Adjusting and Expanding the No-Burning Zone for Highly Polluting Fuels (Draft for Public Comments" )" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice").
The "Notice" stipulates that the entire administrative region of Foshan City is designated as a no-burning zone for high-pollution fuels (hereinafter referred to as the "no-burning zone"). In the no-burning zone, the ceramic industry that currently uses high-pollution fuel facilities must use clean energy for kilns and spray drying towers or complete in-depth treatment of flue gases in the ceramic industry. Among them, the in-depth rectification of flue gas in the ceramic industry means that ceramic companies using spray drying towers should carry out standard rectification. After rectification, the emission concentrations of particulate matter, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides of atmospheric pollutants shall not be higher than 20mg/m3, 30mg/m3, 90mg/m3. (The full text of the announcement can be viewed under "Read the original text")
The tightening of emission standards for Foshan's ceramic industry will pose a huge challenge to ceramic companies that have not yet switched from coal to gas? Not really. At present, there are still many ceramic companies in Foshan whose emission concentrations are far below the stricter standards even though they have not completed the conversion from coal to gas.
Take Mona Lisa as an example. Comparing its Foshan Xiqiao base, Qingyuan base and Guangxi base, Qingyuan base and Guangxi base use natural gas; Xiqiao base currently has 15 of 16 lines burning water and gas. The three environmental indicators (unit: mg/m3) of particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides at the three Mona Lisa bases are as follows:
Qingyuan Base:Particulate matter (10), SO2 (10), NOX (80)
Guangxi Base:Particulate matter (5), SO2 (8), NOX (75)
Xiqiao Base: Particulate matter (8), SO2 (15), NOX (85)
Foshan’s latest standards:Particulate matter (20), SO2 (30), NOX (90)
(The above information is quoted from the WeChat public account "Designer Information Bureau")
It can be seen from the comparison of the above figures that enterprises are not necessarily able to meet emission standards as long as they use natural gas; whether the enterprise burns water, gas or natural gas, ceramic enterprises must pay attention to environmental protection management. Only by paying attention to environmental protection can ceramic companies achieve ultra-low emissions.
In the 2019 Foshan Enterprise Environmental Credit Evaluation results released by the Foshan Ecological Environment Bureau some time ago, 316 enterprises in Foshan were included in this evaluation. After evaluation, the environmental credit performance of the ceramic industry has been excellent. 8 ceramic companies including Xin Mingzhu, Mona Lisa, Shuncheng, Xin Runcheng, and Qianghui were rated as Green Cards (Environmental Protection Integrity Enterprises). 22 Taowei-related companies including Xinghui, Ouwen Lai, Nengqiang, and Tianwei were rated as blue cards (good environmental protection companies).
Which ceramic companies do you think can successfully pass the environmental standards improvement in Foshan?
